Dr. Derek Stewart’s curriculum development process provides my college students with a solid framework for exploring creative solutions to real-life problems. His curriculum planning supports and enhances my desire to provide students with challenging yet achievable learning goals which include community engagement with stakeholders and artists. Since then, he has positively impacted over three hundred SDSU students.

Elizabeth Tofte, PhD: SDSU Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture

Dynamic, passionate, and authentically connected. Just a few words in an attempt to capitalize on the professional dispositions and teaching pedagogy of Dr. Derek Stewart who facilitated a Tribal Arts I course for Early College students at our institution. His passion in tribal arts and history provided a welcoming and energizing setting resulting in authentic connections between students and on a teacher-to-student basis
